ITINERARY OF 6 DAYS TOUR FROM FES TO MARRAKECH
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN FES
On the first day of our 6-day desert trek from Fes to Merzouga, we will either pick you up at the airport or transport you to your accommodation, depending on your arrival time and the chances of making first contact with the city.
DAY 2: FES SIGHTSEEING:
Everyone in the kingdom spent the entire day studying the most intelligent city. You are able to observe a number of landmarks: In the Koranic Schools (Medersas), Chahrij Bouinania Attarin is listed. In addition to the Karaouine Mosque and Fes El-Jedid, the world’s first university was located in the Souks.
DAY 3: FES – IFRANE – CEDAR FOREST – MIDELT – MERZOUGA
After breakfast, travel to Fes, Ifran, Cedar Forest, Midalet, and Merzouga on day three.
After breakfast on the third day of our six-day adventure across the Fes Desert, we will begin our journey to Merzouga, Sahara, via Ifrane. Our journey to Tafilalte and the Ziz Valley will take us via the Cedar Forest. After an afternoon spent riding camels, we will make our way to the desert settlement of Merzouga, where we will pitch a nomadic tent for the night. Camping gear, including food and a place to sleep.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA – ERG CHEBBI DUNES:
On Day 4, you will travel from Merzouga to the Erg Chebbi Dunes. The desert is there in front of you! admiring the magnificent sand dunes… The 4×4 ride back to the hotel takes us past flamenco-filled Dayet Srji lake and the home of a family of Gnawa or Bambara musicians. These musicians are descendants of slaves from Black Africa and will enchant us with their traditional music after we admire the breathtaking sunrise image in the dunes in the early morning. In the sand dunes where the Paris-Dakar pass winds its way, we’ll come across a few semi-nomadic families making their way across the desert. A genuine adventure! When the day is over, we’ll head back to the hotel for the night.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA – MIDDLE ATLAS – FES:
The journey to Fes will begin after breakfast and pass through Rissani, the ancient Moroccan economic hub. Bypassing Tafilalet and enjoying the breathtaking views of the Palmerales and the Gorges, we will go toward the Ziz Valley. Once we reach AZROU, we will stop to admire the free-living monkeys and marvel at the stunning views of the Middle Atlas and the Forest of the Cedars. We will next go via IFRANE, which is sometimes called “Moroccan Switzerland,” and reach Fez in the afternoon.
Day two of our six-day desert journey from Fes to Merzouga has come to an end.
DAY 6: FES – AIRPORT:
Our 6-day desert tour from Fes to Merzouga concludes with the transportation to the Fez airport on the sixth day.
